Friday "Tuck Shop"
Class 13 have been working very hard on their life skills and money skills. They are running a "tuck shop" for the staff every Friday, where staff can come and purchase a snack.
In class the pupils decide what they will sell on the Friday, make out a shopping list and go to the Co-op where they purchase all the items.
Once this is done, they then decide how much to charge for the various snacks, and on a Friday morning they prep all the food items. Last Friday as well as little bars, crisps, cookies and buns, there were bags of diced fresh pineapple, bananas and baguettes with cheese, ham or ham and cheese.
The children take turns serving staff and they handle all the transactions, working out total costs and what change to give.
Everyone was very impressed with the service on day one and are looking forward to the next "tuck shop" already.
